Queue display setting

Hi there,

I'm wondering if it is possible to get back the multilines display in the production queue window. You know, the one in SE4 where you got to see the 3 first items to be built on a planet. As it is now, you only see one, so you never know if your queue is gonna be empty or there are still items left. This would definitively reduce micro managing.

Side question, why it has been removed from SE5??

Or as an alternative how about a column with the build time remaining for the entire queue in addition to the time remaining on the current build item.

Or as another alternative, just let resources carry over and add on to the next thing you build, so you can just let the queue go empty and then decide what to build. I really appreciate that feature in Civ 4.

Extra build time does get applied to the next item in the queue...

But it will get lost if there is nothing in the queue. Altering what the top item is in any way also removes all the progress.

In Civ4 that progress isn't lost until the end of the turn, and then only if you refused to put something in the queue.

Items moved down in the queue appear to retain the built amount.. I designed some 3 turn bases. I built one for 2 turns, so it had 1 turn left. I then moved another base to the top of the queue, which naturally took 3 turns to built. On the turn it was finished, the other base had 1 turn left til completion.

When I moved it down, it did appear to have its build time rest to 3 turns, but it didn't actually lose any of the resources I had expended to build it. The build time of items after the first in the queue is always whatever the full cost of build time would be, regardless of spillover or accrued construction points. The display should be fixed, but the actual build costs do seem to work fine.

Instead of complaining about how it's not like Civ 4 I ought to acknowledge that the way it works now (like Fyron describes it) is lots better than the way GalCiv I and Civ 2 used to do it.

What I do is at the end of every turn I hit Shift-Q, I have the queues sorted by how many turns left in the build, and I add something to every queue that has 0.1 years left. Works fine except I end up double-checking the queues that already have something after them.
