Alliances in simultaneous PBEM game question |
We are playing a 4 Human Player, 6 AI game with simultaneous turn process setup. Since SE5 launch, we have been unable to get alliances working properly but figured it was due to the long standing bugs with that part of the game. With the release of 1.7x (lately 1.79) it sounded like alliance might be fixed so we started a new game and tried again but still ran into problems.
We can successfully create an alliance of 2 Human players. Upon attempting to add a third we run into problems:
1) 3rd player requests to join: Both members in the alliance get a message stating a member wants to join, both click on that, accept and a proposal is created. However, as soon as the turn ends and the new turn begins all record of the proposal is lost and thus the 3rd player is not added.
2) The alliance extends an invite to the 3rd player. One person in the alliance extends the invite, and a proposal is generated. It would seem logical this proposal would be viewable by the other alliance member next turn, but after the turn processes and the new turn begins, the proposal is gone (similar to the end result above).
Has anyone been able to successfully create an alliance with more than 2 Human players in a simultaneous game... and if so please help!
Thanks much!

Re: Alliances in simultaneous PBEM game question
Create a test game with 4 players human controlled and make sure all planets/systems are viewable from game start. This way every empire is in contact from game start. Start testing the Alliance process with you controlling the Empires to see what is working or not to determine the correct way to start the alliance.

Re: Alliances in simultaneous PBEM game question
Sorry for the double post... I neglected to mention we are running the latest Balance Mod (1.19) along with SE5 1.79. Thanks again.
